At NiceJob, protecting your business and your Customers’ data is a top priority. As home service businesses grow, your account becomes a valuable hub for leads, reviews, and reputation data. To ensure this information stays in the right hands, we have introduced Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
MFA adds a necessary second layer of protection, bringing your account up to industry-standard security expectations.
What is MFA and how does it work? 🔑
Multi-Factor Authentication (often called 2FA) requires two forms of identification to access your account: something you know (your password) and something you receive (a unique code).
The process is simple:
Log in with your standard email and password.
Check your email for a 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP).
Enter the code into NiceJob to complete your login.
Currently, NiceJob uses email-based verification to ensure every User can receive their codes reliably, regardless of their location.
Managing your security settings ⚙️
We believe in giving you control over your account security. You can manage your MFA preferences directly within the app.
Where to find it: Navigate to your Personal Settings and look for the Security page.
Toggle on/off: You can choose to opt-in or opt-out of MFA at any time.
Why you might see MFA enabled already 🛡️
To proactively protect our community, we have force-enabled MFA for many users identified as being at higher risk.
If you find that MFA is already active on your account, it is because we wanted to ensure your data remained secure. You can still adjust these settings in your Security page if needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does MFA support authenticator apps or SMS?
At this time, MFA is strictly email-only.
What happens if I change my password?
For your protection, while MFA is enabled, we have implemented email-based OTP verification during the password change process to verify it is really you making the update.
Keeping your account secure allows you to focus on what matters most: getting more reviews and more referrals automatically 🚀.
