Is your Engage widget playing hide-and-seek? No worries! There are a few things to check.
Pin the widget to the header. 📌
Pinning the widget to your site's header ensures the script loads smoothly across every single page of your website. Follow these quick steps to attach and pin your HTML Embed element:
Step 1: Add the HTML Embed Element
Open your website in the Wix Editor.
Click Add Elements (+) on the left toolbar.
Select Embed Code > Embed HTML.
Choose Code, paste your Engage snippet into the field, and click Update.
Step 2: Attach the Box to the Header
Drag the Embed box all the way up to the top Header section.
Keep dragging until the blue "Attach to Header" notification appears.
Release the element. (This ensures your widget runs site-wide, instead of just hanging out on the homepage!)
Step 3: Pin & Publish 🚀
Right-click the Embed box sitting inside your Header.
Select Pin to Screen.
Close the settings panel and hit Publish in the top-right corner to push your changes live!
Additional Reasons the Engage Widget Might Not Load
1. Disable Caching Plugins 🔌
The Issue: NiceJob widgets are not compatible with aggressive caching plugins. Because our widgets pull review data in real time. Caching prevents our widgets from working.
The Fix: Deactivate your caching plugin or add an exemption for the NiceJob widget script, then refresh your site.
2. Check Your Review Auto-Publish Settings
The Issue: If auto-publishing is turned off in your NiceJob account, your newly collected reviews won't push to the Engage widget automatically.
The Fix: Go to Product Settings > Settings > Review Settings in your NiceJob dashboard and make sure Auto-Publish is toggled ON. 🔛
Then: Head over to the Stories page in your NiceJob dashboard, review your collected customer feedback, and click Publish on any reviews you would like to show off on your website widget.
⚠️ Important Note on Unpublished Reviews: Unpublishing a review in NiceJob removes it from your website widgets, but it will not remove the review from the third-party platform (like Google or Facebook) where it was originally posted.
The only way to remove a review from a platform like Google is for:
The customer who left the review to delete/edit it, or
The review platform itself to remove it
3. Review Recency (Past 6 Months Only) 🌟
The Issue: The Engage widget is designed to showcase fresh social proof, so it only displays reviews received within the past 6 months. If all of your reviews are older than 6 months, the widget will remain hidden until a new review comes in.
The Fix: Let NiceJob do what NiceJob does best and let's get you some more reviews! Start sending out campaign invitations to your recent customers—as soon as a new review lands, your Engage widget will pop right back up on your site. 🌟
