Can NiceJob Take Down or Stop Negative Reviews?

No, NiceJob cannot take down, delete, or block negative reviews from Google, Facebook, or other public platforms.

Written by Brittany Morris

To stay fully compliant with major review platforms and their guidelines, NiceJob does not practice or permit review filtering (also known as review gating). Below, we’ll explain why this policy exists and share how you can use NiceJob to manage negative feedback and build a stellar online reputation. ⭐

Why Public Reviews Can't Be Filtered or Deleted 📋

Protecting Your Business & Listing

Review filtering is the practice of selectively directing only happy customers to public review sites while blocking unhappy ones. This violates the terms of service for most major review platforms—most notably Google.

😰 Why it matters: Engaging in review filtering can lead to serious consequences, including having your business listing penalized or having all of your accumulated reviews completely wiped out by Google. We would never put your hard-earned reputation in jeopardy!

Fairness & Trust

Review filtering creates an unfair playing field by shielding businesses that deliver poor products or services. Allowing honest customer feedback helps maintain trust across public review platforms and encourages high standards of service.

Feedback Routing Keeps You Compliant

Enabling Feedback Routing merely gives customers the option to submit private feedback instead of leaving a review if they so choose. ✉️

🚨 While Feedback Routing provides the choice to leave private feedback, it does not stop customers from posting a public review. When Feedback Routing is turned on, all invited customers will still be offered the option to leave both private feedback and a public review. Providing the option for both is a strict requirement of Google to prevent "Review Gating"

Activating Feedback Routing will likely reduce the total number of positive reviews you receive by a small amount as well because happy customers may also opt to leave private feedback.

How NiceJob Can Help You Manage Negative Feedback 🛠️

Negative reviews can happen. They can be discouraging, misleading, and even unfair. 😟 While you can't prevent someone from leaving a bad review, NiceJob gives you powerful tools to protect and boost your brand. This may not take the sting out of receiving a negative review, but you can turn that review into a great opportunity for your business and your reputation! 😊

Respond Easily from Your Dashboard 💬

Monitor and reply to all reviews in one place. Responding calmly, empathetically, and professionally within 2–3 days shows potential clients that you take service quality seriously. Want to learn more about responding to reviews check out these resources:

Control What NiceJob Shares💻📱

While third-party review platforms show all genuine feedback, NiceJob gives you full control over your own marketing channels. You can adjust your settings so that lower-rated reviews are never published to your website, widgets, or microsite, and they will not be shared to your social media channels! 👍

Flag Unfair or Fake Reviews 🚩

If a review is genuinely fraudulent, malicious, or submitted by someone who was never a customer, you can flag it directly on the host platform (like Google Business Profile) for removal. Please note that NiceJob is not able to communicate with review sites on your behalf regarding negative reviews. It's also important to only flag reviews that violate Google's policies (simply receiving a negative rating isn't enough grounds for removal). In the meantime, be sure to post a polite public reply so future customers see you actively managing your listing!
